Who we are

Coastal Projects is a home renovation and bespoke fitted furniture business in Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset. We are responsible for the personal information described on this page. To contact us about it, email hello@coastalprojects.co.uk or call 07540 312 220.

What we collect

When you send a message through the contact form we receive:

your name and email address
your phone number, if you choose to give it
your message
the page you were on before you opened the form, so we can see what you were interested in
the date and time you sent it

If you email or call us directly, we keep what you tell us in the same way. We do not ask for anything else, and we do not collect payment details through this website.

How we use it

To reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to arrange and carry out the work.
To send you an automatic confirmation that your message arrived.
To keep a record of enquiries and the work that follows them.
To protect the form from spam and misuse.

We use your details only for these purposes. We do not sell them, and we do not use them for marketing.

Our legal basis

We handle your details because you asked us to get in touch, which means taking steps at your request before any agreement, and because we have a legitimate interest in answering enquiries and running our business. We balance that interest against your rights and keep what we hold to a minimum.

Who handles it for us

We use a few services to run the website and the form. They act on our behalf and only for these purposes:

Cloudflare hosts this website, stores form submissions in a database and runs the spam check on the form.
Resend sends the enquiry notification to us and the confirmation email to you.
Our email provider hosts the hello@coastalprojects.co.uk mailbox.

Some of these providers process information outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards that the UK data protection rules accept, such as approved contract terms.

Cookies, analytics and your browser

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and this site does not show a cookie banner because it does not need one.

Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you. It records things like the page visited, the country and the type of device.
Previous page. While you browse, your browser keeps the name of the last page you looked at in temporary session storage. It is sent with your message if you use the contact form, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab.
Spam check. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated bots. It runs in your browser when the form is shown.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to reply and to carry out any work that follows. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after two years. Records of completed work are kept for as long as we need them for the job, our accounts and any guarantees we give.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
correct anything that is wrong
delete your information
limit how we use it, or stop using it where we rely on our legitimate interests

Email hello@coastalprojects.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
